Communications Information for Grantees

We encourage grantees to share news of grant awards, grant-supported activities, and any impact or outcomes from their work. Sharing this information will create visibility on the issues that we hope to address through our work at Walder Foundation. This page is intended to guide how we can work together to communicate about your work.

Note: The information contained here does not replace terms defined in your agreement. Any external communications that use the Walder Foundation name or logo must be approved in advance and in writing by the Foundation. Send any materials requiring approval to communications@walderfoundation.org at least three days prior to the intended publication or announcement date.

USE OF NAME

The Foundation’s name in print should be written as Walder Foundation.

Our name can be abbreviated after the first use to “Foundation.” The “F” in Foundation should be capitalized in this abbreviated form.

"The" is not part of our name so it should never be capitalized unless at the start of a sentence.

STANDARD BOILERPLATE

If you would like to include a summary statement about the Walder Foundation in a report or other communication acknowledging your grant, use the following text:

About the Walder Foundation

The Walder Foundation was established by Joseph and Elizabeth Walder to address critical issues impacting our world. The Foundation’s five areas of focus—science innovation, environmental sustainability, the performing arts, migration and immigrant communities, and Jewish life—are an extension of the Walders’ lifelong passions, interests, and their personal and professional experiences.

When including a mention of the Walder Foundation in a press release, we recommend using our standard boilerplate and include the URL to our website:

https://walderfoundation.org

FUNDING ATTRIBUTIONS

When acknowledging a grant, attribution should be made to Walder Foundation, not to the Walders. Our preferred language is “supported by” or “funded by” Walder Foundation.

OUR LOGO

Use of the Foundation’s logo is permitted in approved communications with adherence to these guidelines:

The logo should only be used in communications related to your grant.

Do not display the Walder Foundation logo on the cover of any materials produced independently by your organization. Use of the Walder Foundation’s name or placement of the logo in any materials should clearly reflect grant support while avoiding possible misinterpretation that the Walder Foundation co-authored or is otherwise responsible for the content.

The image in our logo should never be separated from the Foundation name and used on its own. Similarly, Walder should never be separated from Foundation.

How to display our logo

Always maintain clear space around the logo so that it doesn’t compete with other elements or lose its distinction. The height of the second character in the Walder Foundation logo is equal to X. Maintain this X clearance zone around the logo on all sides.

Clear space

Clear space

Below are examples of how to pair the Walder Foundation logo with other partner logos. It is important for both logos to maintain their respective clear space, in order to provide legibility and clarity among the co-brands.

Clearly indicate the role of the Walder Foundation with a headings such as “Supported by”as shown here.

Ensure that the logo appears clear and legible. Never place the logo on a colored or patterned background, making it unrecognizable. If you need a white version of the logo, please send a request to communications@walderfoundation.org.

When placed in digital communications, please link the logo to the homepage of the Foundation’s website: https://walderfoundation.org
